Campus Emergency Response Guide released

By Heather Burnham
EAST LIVERPOOL - The emergency response guide is now available on the KSU-EL home page. The document covers 11 natural disasters and emergency situations, from active shooter to tornado, and gives explicit instructions on what to do in these circumstances.

This is a three-part document, the third of which is an incident report. There are step-by-step instructions on how to complete this form. It is necessary to complete anytime something happens such as a purse theft or a confrontation with a stranger in the parking lot.

The East Liverpool Campus Emergency Response Guide is available to everyone in hardcopy. Copies have been placed in three-ring binders throughout the campus at several different locations. In the main building, it is at the Blair Memorial Library, front desk, Slak Shak and academic center. Guides can be found in each deans office, the business office and the third floor student lounge at the Mary Pat.

According to Lynette Rawlings, director of the Justice Studies program, "This is a working, living document; it will be revised as seen fit." What that means is that anytime state law or campus protocol changes, the document will reflect the new regulation. If any changes should take place the students will be notified by e-mail.

If you have any safety suggestions for this campus or questions about safety, direct them to Lynette Rawlings lrawling@kent.edu .
