Club liaisons appoint temporary SGO officers

EAST LIVERPOOL – Students from four of the university-recognized clubs at KSU met to decide on stand-in members of the Student Government Organization (SGO) pending the outcome of an election.

Anthony Underwood, head of enrollment and student services, invited members from the Computer Technology Club (CTC), Occupational Therapy Assistants Club (OTAC), Physical Therapy Assistants Club (PTAT) and the Student Activities Club to meet officially on April 17 to discuss the upcoming elections and to divide responsibilities.

Jordan Steele is now the acting president for the remainder of the semester and will vie for the position of president for the 2008-9 term. The stand-in treasurer is OT major Crystal Baker and computer technology major David Eckstein is the temporary secretary.

Anyone with a GPA of 2.25 or better who will be enrolled in a minimum of six hours for fall term may start submitting their candidacy proposals April 21 and the deadline is April 29. To find out more about the process contact jsteele7@kent.edu .

The provisional SGO has set the election dates for April 30 and May 1.
