Kent State Salem to Hold Orientation for New Students

Kent State University Salem is hosting two upcoming New Student Orientation sessions for incoming freshman, Post-Secondary and Transfer students.

The first session will be held on Wednesday, August 22 and will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Majors Fair where students can gather information and speak to faculty and Program Directors from majors available at the Salem, East Liverpool and Kent campuses. Following the Majors Fair students will gather in the Lecture Hall for an hour long informational session where they will receive valuable information on Student Services and Resources including peer tutoring, library and computer lab services, Career & Disability Services, student activities planned for the fall and student club opportunities.

They will also receive a reminder of important dates and some valuable “Tips for Success.” Following the Wednesday morning session there will be a free picnic on the South patio where students and their family members will be able to join Salem Campus faculty and staff for a lunch catered by Stooges Bar & Grille. Current Kent State Salem students will also be on hand to give tours, help students find their classes and get their Flashcards following the picnic.

The second session will be held on Thursday evening, August 23 will begin at 5:30 p.m. This orientation will be much more to the point with an informational session in the lecture hall, campus tours and light refreshments.
