This year’s Commencement will be held in a location befitting the importance of the occasion.
The KSU Salem City Center Auditorium, in the large building formally known as the
Salem Middle School near the intersection of State and North Lincoln in downtown Salem, will play host to the hundreds of students, staff, faculty, administrators and family members gathered to celebrate the most important of university events.
The Auditorium offers great acoustics, beautiful woodwork dating from the 1914-1917 construction period, and 800 seats between the floor and the balcony.
The City Center continues to undergo renovation, but is already home to the Y, the Hannah Mullins School of Practical Nursing, Workforce Development and a number of Kent State offices and classrooms.
The deal to formally purchase the building was completed this past January for $50,000.
