OVRAC Community Art Show

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Tri-State Area artists are encouraged to enter the Ohio Valley Regional Arts Council’s annual community art show. The competition is open to all artists who reside in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.

Entries will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 19-20 in the gallery at Kent State East Liverpool’s Mary Patterson Building, 213 East Fourth Street, downtown. An opening reception will be held in the Mary Patterson Gallery on Thursday, March 25.. Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded the night of the reception. Food and beverages will be provided

Entries must be recent, original works not previously exhibited in the KSU Mary Patterson Gallery. All two-dimensional work must be framed and ready to hang, with sturdy eye screws and strong wire attached. All works on paper must be framed under glass or plastic. Works to be hung must not exceed 48 inches in width. Three-dimensional art should be stable and reasonably tip-resistant.

All submitted pieces must have a completed identification label fastened to the back (or bottom). Labels and information sheets are available at the Kent State East Liverpool reception desk at the Main Building, 400 East Fourth Street. Labels also will be available at the gallery during the drop-off times.

A $10 per-piece entry fee (limit: three per artist) is required upon delivery of artwork. Please make checks payable to: Ohio Valley Regional Arts Council. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Photography will not be accepted for the spring competition, but photographers are invited to participate in the OVRAC photography competition held in the fall.

The exhibit will run from March 25 – April 16. Regular gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday noon-2 p.m. and Thursday 6-8 p.m.
