Notification for acceptance to ADN program extends through August

EAST LIVERPOOL - The process of notification for acceptance into the Kent State East Liverpool Fall 2008 Associate Degree Nursing Program has commenced, sparking concern among applicants who have yet to receive a letter.

While letters were received by some students as early as mid-March, Dr. Frances Anne Freitas, interim director of the ADN program, said that “qualified students can receive letters of acceptance through the beginning of August.”

According to Freitas, the admissions committee will admit between 60 and 80 students to the program, depending upon the number of faculty available to teach the courses.

While not all letters have been sent out, Freitas said, “Students who are successfully progressing in their program of study will receive letters of acceptance.” However, acceptance is conditional on a student’s continued academic success.

Acceptance into the ADN program requires applicants to maintain a minimum 2.7 grade point average and achieve a grade of C or better in all required courses.

As well, applicants must show successful completion of courses in algebra, chemistry, and biology on their high school or college transcripts.
