EAST LIVERPOOL – A new online course called “Career Exploration” offered this spring at KSU helps students find direction when deciding on their career path.
Deborah Woods teaches the one credit course of 24 students. “It is designed for students who are undecided about their major or aren’t sure about possible jobs that are available in a given field,” she said.
Focusing on self-assessment, Woods steers the students to explore themselves so that they make the best choices for committing to their futures. She uses a special “test” called the “Self-Directed Search” by John Holland which is actually an “interest inventory”.
The class will run again in the fall of 2008; however, Woods will counsel or assist with self-assessment any individual who makes an appointment. Her e-mail address is dwoods@kent.edu .
