Three Poets and a Microphone

By Melody Gustafson and Mike Canaday
EAST LIVERPOOL -- In the Mary Patterson Building's Brown Room Wednesday night, the Ohio Valley Regional Arts Council presented three KSU poets who read their work for a mixed crowd of students, faculty and community members.

Jason Venner, an instructor and published poet, had taught a poetry writing class at KSU-EL Fall 2009 and had copies of his book, Opening Up the Trees, for sale. Students James Yarwood and Levi Pollock opened the action in their debut billed event. All three poets have had the benefit of Dr. Craig Paulenich's instruction and direction in the pursuit of their skills.
