SALEM -- President Evie Spence announced Student Government Organization (SGO) plans and a 2:30 Tuesday meeting time for Spring term.
For the entire month of February, anyone can buy $1 raffle tickets for a March 1 drawing. The winner gets an Apple ipod valued at approximately $135.
Proceeeds from the ipod raffle will add to the income gleaned from last fall's fundraising efforts and will be used later. No purpose has been discussed for this money yet.
The Human Services Club has submitted paperwork to the SGO and has been officially recognized as a club. This allows HSC to petition SGO for funds. Right now, this is the only club that has done this.
In other news, Kristin Toothman, director of enrollment and student services, announced Student Appreciation Days the week of Feb. 15. On President's Day, students can indulge in free pizza and pop while supplies last from 4:30- 5:30. On Fat Tuesday an unspecified type of free food be offered from 11:30-1, and on both days there will be music and give-aways.
The assistant director of enrollment and student services, William Bucy, wants to remind students to utilize the Academic Center when they need help in their subjects. The Academic Center is also the place to go for backround checks, make-up exams, career counceling and advising help.
